C10 Towing - wiring for lights

Hey, has anyone had any success having a towbar fitted?

I have just paid $3,500 to have a towbar fitted by a very reputable company and when they got to wiring, found that the tail and brake lights were on the same wire, and also indicators (L and R) and hazards, so they could not separate them. Fitter had an autoelectrician work on it for two days with no luck.

Calls to the dealer were useless, and dealer said Leapmotor was unable to help.

Seriously, I bought the car specifically for towing and seem to have watsed a tonne of money.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

I don't have a Leapmotor C10, but I "groked" your question and the bot found some info related to your problem. I'm not sure if it will point you to the right direction, but here are the links it gave me, in which a "wiring kit" is mentioned or even sold separately.

Enganches AragĂłn (also check the attached PDF if that helps)

I'd suggest giving them a call to see if they can help at all. If there's only one cable, it could be some kind of CAN system, but I'm no expert. Also - in case we're talking about a fully electric C10 - don't want to be that person, but if you're planning to tow over long distances, you might be disappointed by most EVs (diesel deserves its credit here). Good luck.
Thanks for that - I appreciate it. I'll check out the links etc. and have also contacted Stellantis as there's a few safety issues too (car braking suddenly in traffic for no reason etc).

Yes I do own a fully electric and am aware of the reduced range, but we have a very good (and improving constantly) charging network in my country, so that's less of an issue.

No problem, and if the charging network allows for towing without issues, that's great. Nothing like the instant torque of an electric motor and not having to worry about range.

I also found some info on how they do it for the Leapmotor C11 in China. It's not the same model, but I can't imagine it'd be that different. For wiring, the popular option seems to be a kit called 'TOWKIT'.

Here's a video that shows much of it for a C11: https://www.dongchedi.com/ugc/article/7291951375158676773 (the text does not say much, basically advertising and describing the product as shown).

A listing with the TOWKIT wiring kit for C11/C16 in Taobao (although the website is a bit of a pain to browse): 零跑C11/C16拖...

You're awesome, thank you friend :)
