Hi all (especially right hand drive versions of T03, UK and otherwise),

I really liked aftermarket front trunk (frunk) storage boxes I saw on AliExpress, but first one I tried to buy the seller asked me to cancel the order as it is not compatible with my car. Second seller was less scrupulous and sold me one anyway. Example of what I've bought

And I can confirm that it is not quite compatible. But, bought it as an experiment and I was happy to write it off in case I can't do with it. But, I managed to fit it anyway :D It required a small hacksaw (a sharp knife would do as plastic is not that hard) and after a few smaller cuts and trials I've go to it now!

First what I had to cut:

At the moment it is held only by left most (as on the picture) screw (not a screw but little plastic thingy). For rightmost I can't push it all way to the chassis so I'll have to come up with some other smarter solution (some 3d design and 3d printing I suspect). Middle two are way off and I don't think I'll ever manage to sort them. (Are they really that important?)

These are off cuts and tools and here's final solution with content of the bag from the booth:

I'm yet to drive with it...

Yeap, I think mine was the very same model; while it does probably fit well for previous models of the T03, unfortunately it doesn't quite drop in fit the UK variant

My solution is also almost exactly the same; using a cutting disk taking small pieces at a time away from where it collides with the raised bottle

At first I was going to use the existing clips and locations to hold it in place but, 1 they don't all line up correctly, 2 the tray seats fairly well without rattling without the clips, 3 the tray can be easily removed without tools to access the motor bay if needed

My T03 also has an anti vermin ultra sounder directly attached to the utility battery, all the clips, wires and small casing easily stow in spaces out of the way of the frunk tray

While it doesn't offer too much extra storage space, just as can seen in the above pics, it can easily store the recharging cables etc in a dedicated place, not having them buried in the boot prone to damage

As it is quite expensive to design and make the moulds for plastic parts - and these being very large plastic parts - I doubt we will get rhd versions of these trays for quite a while

For that reason, I found the cheapest AliExpress listing - being careful to include the p&p in the overall price - and ordered one for about ÂŁ50 knowing I'd likely have to cut it

Should a rhd version show up at some time, I might buy one then, but for now the mild awkwardness of a small cut to accommodate the raised bottle is made up for by having the small extra now dedicated space for the charge cables, tire weld, towing eye and that weird black metal triangle clip thingy
